Dealing with a matter

우리회사 client 인 제니퍼가 전화를 하여 자료 일부가 빠져있다고 합니다. Therefore, 그 자료를 송부해야 하는데 팩스machine이 고장나 지금 under repair 중입니다. 그렇지 않아도 무지 바쁜 태은씨! 실수는 No!

Would you like me to fax that to you? :  ‘~해 주시겠어요’ 라고 하면, 당근 ‘would you 동사원형’이 나와야겠지요. 여기에서 fax 는 명사가 아닌 동사로서 ~을 팩스로 보내다 의 뜻임.

Our fax machine is being repaired at the moment : be+ being +~ing 는 수동 진행형이죠. 따라서, ~되고 있어요 라고 해석하시면 됩니다. at the moment 는 지금이라는 뜻임.

I’ll be sure to send you the fax this afternoon : ‘확실하게 ~하겠다’ 라고 하면, ‘I’ll be sure to 동사원형’ 입니다.

  * detail : 상술하다, after-sales service 판매 후 서비스, information about~에 관한 정보, repair 수리하다.

Jennifer : You sent me a brochure detailing your newest line of cellular phones, but there wasn't any information about after-sales service.

                (최신핸드폰을 상세히 설명한 책자를 보내셨는데, 판매후의 서비스에 관한 정보가 없더군요.)

Mr. Hyun : Oh, I'm sorry. Would you like me to fax that to you?

                 (아, 죄송합니다. 제가 팩스로 보내드릴까요?)

Jennifer : Yes, but our fax machine is being repaired at the moment, and it won't be working until 2:00. Hum . . . could you try sending that information around 3:00? 

               (예, 하지만 팩스기를 지금 수리하고 있어 오후 2시까지는 작동이 안됩니다. 흠….3시쯤에 그것을 보내실 수 있습니까?)

Mr. Hyun : All right. I'll be sure to send you the fax this afternoon.

                 (좋습니다. 오늘 오후에 반드시 보내겠습니다.)

Jennifer : Okay, bye.    

                (알겠습니다. 안녕히 계세요)
